Wicked Priest 2: Ballad of Murder - (GB, IE, US, CA) - 1968

In the second film in the series, Wicked Priest 2: Ballad of Murder, Shinkai agrees to escort a young boy to his home village to live with his grandfather, jiu-jitsu master Iwai. The town is run by the local mob, headed by ruthless boss Goda (Toru Abe, Lady Snowblood: Love Song of Vengeance), and Iwai and Shinkai are among the few brave enough to stand up to them. But Goda fiendishly hires Shinkai's nemesis, the Zatoichi-inspired fighting monk Ryotatsu (Bunta Sugawara, Battles Without Honor and Humanity), hellbent on revenge against Shinkai for blinding him.

Wicked Priest 3: A Killer’s Pilgrimage - (GB, IE, US, CA) - 1969

In the third film, Wicked Priest 3: A Killer’s Pilgrimage, Shinkai arrives in a pleasant coastal village whose peaceful inhabitants are being besieged by dynamite-wielding pirate revolutionaries. Shinkai decides to join the fight and help the villagers stand up to their oppressors. Along the way he’ll also find the time to get embroiled in bawdy misadventures and fight off the assaults of Ryotatsu, the blind monk still seeking revenge against him.

Wicked Priest 4: The Killer Priest Comes Back - (GB, IE, US, CA) - 1970

The fourth film in the series, Wicked Priest 4: The Killer Priest Comes Back sees Shinkai returning to his snowy hometown for his mother’s memorial. But upon coming back, he discovers that his childhood friend has become a ruthless yakuza, mercilessly exploiting the community where he grew up. Shinkai must take justice into his own hands and help the villagers revolt against tyranny.

Wicked Priest 5: Blood on the Commandments - (GB, IE, US, CA) - 1971

Wicked Priest 5: Blood on the Commandments sees Shinkai once again get onto fights against yakuza who interrupt his peaceful existence of drinking, gambling and wandering the red-light districts of Japan. But Ryotatsu, the blind priest dead set on revenge against Shinkai for blinding him, is back and seeking retribution once more in this epic conclusion to the Wicked Priest saga.
