Miike weaponizes the uncanny valley to its best effect. Lots of fun, inventive CGI, good body horror elements, cool character moments and action scenes - sadly, you can feel this is a serialized story condensed. This needed fewer characters, deeper characterization and some moments for the plot to breathe. Not to mention an actual ending.
