This is the most influential science fiction film since Blade Runner, and like Blade Runner it failed at the box office. The stellar release from Arrow Video gives the movie a chance to find new viewers. The transfer is magnificent and I can finally put my DNR plagued 2008 blu-ray release to rest.

Dark City is a classic. No argue here. However it’s one of those movies that you can feel its years when watching nowadays. BUT and here is the key: Arrow edition is just a game changer on this movie. Their restoration is, as many other movies on their stock, excellent. A masterwork only achieved when there is both knowledge and love on the work done. In Dark City, DV plays a key role, when combined with an OLED TV, you get a beautiful HDR of a such “dark” title that balances lights so well. This is a must arrow title.

A scifi masterpiece that has been beautifully remastered. The film is a great combination of scifi and film noir with a strong cast and amazing art direction.
