Looks even sleazier somehow in 4K and the extras are numerous. I grabbed the collectors edition box set which also includes a beautifully informed book with interviews and essays. Arrow Video has done it again!

I´m probably not only buyer of Cruising, who is not interested only in stylish murder mystery movie, but also enjoys capturing of gay subculture from early 80´s and is curious for historical info about making the movie, society reaction and how gay audience enjoyed movie existence. So I bought this not only for visually great version of the movie, but also for announced extras - there is BluRay full of new extras, with movie editor, actors, owner of Mineshaft bar and former detective and consultant for the movie which is awesome. Limited edition has also booklet where you can read articles about movie controversy with lot of useful info. For some people, extras and booklet can be actually more entertaining and awesome than movie itself - and that´s a compliment for this awesome release.

This limited edition is the perfect tribute to one of the most complex and mindful movies of the late 1970s. Deeply misunderstood at the time of its release, Cruising has been rightfully reconsidered over the subsequent decades as one of finest movies William Friedkin has made. The quality of this re-issue, from its packaging to the quality of the print, is just great. The audio-commentary track with Mark Kermode is really worth a listen. Highly recommended.

One of Arrow's best editions out there ! The limited edition's slipcover has a nice leather-like texture, the transfer is a vast improvement over the blu-ray and the supplements abound. Must-own ! The movie itself remains fascinating and disturbing.
