Four nightmarish stories brought to life by four visionary directors. I didn't know much about the directors going in to this, the only one I had heard of was Akio Jissoji (who directed Mirror Hell, maybe my least favourite of the four stories) but I greatly enjoyed the whole film. The last segment is absolutely wonderful and was definitely my favourite but the whole film is great.
