Dont miss this Call as a Video store Nut

3 out of 3 stars, 5 reviews

Madman Miike is everywhere. He made more than 110 (and counting) feature films. From great to bad, he can deliver if he wants and work with every budget, time constraint, style, and genre. Here he directed the first one, which is also the best of those three films. It's sort of The Ring with a phone instead of a tape. It's definitely not his best work, but still a fun film. Nice ideas and atmosphere. The other two films are entertaining and just baffling, to be honest. If there's a sale, grab this. The technical quality on all fronts is pretty good, and you have some extras too. If you're a J-horror nut, Miike fan, or just plain wanna watch something you don't know, just get this. It's like back in the day—you don't know what to watch because you've seen so much, so you just go niche hunting in a video store with a film freak on the counter who tells you to watch this for some unique ideas. I'll be that guy for you now. Enjoy!
