Gotta pick it up. Iconic and the release itself is fantastic!

Video as an extension of our past, screen as a mirror to self. A picture captures our objective reality, but it won't tell us the whole story - only leave crumbles for us to investigate the fuller context. At heart of this tale is the human need for connection. Sharing, opening up to people near us. We may feel vulnerable - but it's better than suffering in silence.  May not be on the same level of sophistication as Pulse, nor are the horror elements as effective - however, it is still a really well-made film. Instantly iconic. No surprise it became such a phenomenon. Some truly scary scenes in this one, and although it loses it's effect as longer it goes on (and reaches some silly scenes along the way), it never stops being engaging. A very important film for the history of modern cinema. I was always fascinated by it as a kid. Too scared to watch the whole thing, until now. There was always some worry stuck in the back of my head. The concept is simply so universal. Can't stop oneself from thinking what would happen if it was true? So tempting. The voyeuristic element of watching this film is very interesting.
