I’m a huge fan of everything Arrow does, though I’m in the minority of people when I say I’m mixed on the film itself, here. The release and extras is so good, though, so I’ll give it a rewatch soon and re-evaluate

The premise is simple: a film producer offers his widowed friend the opportunity to stage auditions to find his next wife. What the widower doesn't know is that one of the people auditioning is more than he bargained for. Based Ryu Murakami's novel, Takashi Miike does a great job of slowly building the tension with little teases up to an unforgettable finale. Released between Japan's Ringu (1998) and Ju-On: The Grudge (2002), Audition is not to be missed.

I have no idea what I just watched. It goes from comfy Japanese aesthetic to full on horror. But it was enjoyable and the visual and audio is very good.

Takashi Miike's Audition is a truly horrifying experience. Atmosphere is haunting and the ending sends shivers down to viewers spine. Not for the faint hearted! Great extras and good restoration.
