Great release for an average movie.

This gives a great blu-ray presentation of this movie. Well balanced audio, great picture, extras etc. But Tenebrae as a film didn't do it for me.

Easily Argento’s best giallo

If you love giallo or just want to get in to it, then you HAVE to pick this up. Probably Argento’s best, definitely my favourite of his giallos, and easily his bloodiest.

My favourite Argento film

I first saw this on video back in the 80’s and rented it out about 5 times and wanted to see it again but wasn’t in stock in shop because I later found out Tenebre was banned by the stupidity of politicians and media who were all dumb and paranoid. I’ve since bought the R0 Anchor Bay and Dutch dvd of the longest version with a 12 certificate on the front cover! The Arrow blu ray 2nd release is excellent with very good extras together with a dvd. It’s funny the title means darkness in Italian because even the night scenes are bright. But that’s nothing in this my favourite Argento film.

One of the finest Argento efforts

It was a change in style with an excellent cinematography by Luciano Tovoli, set in a Rome devoid of the usual landmarks. Some might not appreciate fully the screenplay and find the film in some places borderline silly. Argento in his bizarre ways makes it really work, never taking it too seriously, with a standout soundtrack and  atmosphere, it is an absolute cult classic. Very nice picture and sound on the bluray. Recommended for sure.
