Arrow Video
In 1974, Stephen King published his first novel, the story of Carrie White, a troubled young girl, bullied by her peers and daughter to a fanatical fundamentalist mother, who discovers she has telekinetic powers. In 1976, it became the first of his works to be adapted for the big screen and, to this day, remains one of the very best.
Carrie marked Brian De Palma's arrival as a major director, following smaller cult films such as Sisters, Phantom of the Paradise and Obsession, and provided a key early role for Sissy Spacek (Badlands), one that would earn her a Best Actress nomination at the Academy Awards®. Piper Laurie would also pick up a nomination as Carrie's mother, while future stars such as Amy Irving, John Travolta and Nancy Allen were given their first major parts in a big-screen production.
Restored in 4K from the original negative, this collector's edition provides the definitive release of a horror classic.

A delicate horror fabula in a stunning 4k edition

I originally had the standard edition Blu-ray, and thought for that time it was the definitive edition of the film. But now I am really happy to say that Arrow has topped that release and release, what I consider to be the definitive edition. The restoration effort that they carried out is phenomenal. The clarity, the depth and colour of the picture is so impressive. The prom scene itself was so magnificent handled that it left me speechless and impressed. I don't have a state of the art sound system, but I did not notice any problems with the sound/dialogue/music etc. I love the physical items as well, from the book to the art cards as well as the poster and the reversible sleeve featuring the original theatrical poster. I will recommend this edition to everyone and anyone as the go to presentation of the film. 10/10 in all aspects.
