The Grudge Collection

Ju-On: The Grudge looks gorgeous in 4K and would absolutely be worth buying on its own if that option was ever made available. It would've been nice for The Grudge 2 to get the same treatment, though I can understand why it might not have been financially worthwhile and the film still looks good in 1080p. It's great to have the two original V-Cinema films finally available outside of Japan and I think they look as good as they possibly can given the format. The same goes for the digital White Ghost and Black Ghost films, though these are definitely the weakest from a visual point of view. It's not quite a definitive Japanese set due to the absence of The Beginning of the End and The Final Curse, which both remain Japan only. There's plenty of bonus features for the two Grudge films, but not many for the rest. The only real problem I have with this is the absence of the two short films that preceded the first Ju-On film and are considered canon, Katasumi and 4444444444. Regardless, I think this is a great set. Well worth the money if you're a fan of Ju-On: The Grudge and/or the American films and want to see more. However, if you've seen any of the Ju-On/Grudge films and didn't like them then this probably isn't worth it because they all tend to stick to a similar formula.
