Two years after being released from his job as an accountant, alcoholic Duval (François Cluzet) receives an unexpected offer from mysterious businessman Clement (Denis Podalydès). Tasked with the seemingly straightforward job of transcribing telephone conversations for Clement, the desperate Duval gratefully accepts the post without asking for any further details.
