The International Crime Fiction Convention returns to Bristol from 9-12 May at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel (that’s the one on Broad Street) to prove the “pen is bloodier than the sword.” Whether you’re a fresh-faced fan or a seasoned regular – CrimeFest is the place to celebrate the nefarious plots that keep us turning those pages with an unbridled and macabre curiosity.
To celebrate the return of CrimeFest, we’ve teamed up with the event organisers to give away 2 free full-weekend passes to the convention for 2 lucky winners. The passes provide free access to all panels, interviews, 2 receptions and the pub quiz!

The Plot Thickens
In addition to the variety of sessions where you can hear international authors dive deeper into their art, you can expect a few “surprises” waiting in store. Not to mention, a couple of activities to make you think outside the book…
Forensic Crime Scene Excursion
Back by popular demand is the chance to meet (and interrogate) the crime scene experts at the University of the West of England. Here delegates are given special access to the brains who train both forensic science students and the police. If that’s not enough to tempt you, you won’t be able to pass up a trip to the Glenside Hospital Museum – formerly the Bristol Lunatic Asylum. That’s right, an asylum.
Pitch an Agent
If you’re an aspiring crime writer with a Stieg Larsson-esque story, you will be granted 10 minutes to privately pitch your ideas to Camilla Bolton (Darley Anderson Literary TV & Film Agency), Hellie Ogden (Janklow & Nesbit Agency), and Hannah Sheppard (DHH Literary Agency).
Don’t forget, in between panels and “surprises”, you can browse our selection of Arrow TV boxsets on DVD and Blu-ray to buy – from latest releases like Trapped – Season Twoto the Nordic Noir & Beyond Classics range, including The Killing and The Bridge.
